"The tail of the Conley Grub moves with the slightest pull. While resting this lure, I've had fish pick the grub off the bottom - the only action was the movement of the tide. Not only is this grub the best one that I have ever used for redfish and snook, it is even better for trout."

I rig the tail vertical to the hook so that it swims vertical like a live fishes tail using the RipTide screw lock jig head. The screw lock keeps the tail straight and it stays on the jig through many strikes and hook ups, unlike other jig heads where the tail continuously slides down the hook. I have found this tail works best working it with a slow jigging action instead of a hard fast jerking movement as is normally used when fishing other jigs.

Jerry Walker displays a nice slot redfish caught on a RipTide Conley Grub

My adventures started out last Saturday where I had the pleasure of fishing a group outing with the Ring Power Corporation. My anglers for the event were Jerry Walker from Jacksonville, and Lew Symmes form Tampa, and both were accomplished anglers from completely different Florida fisheries. Faced with strong easterly winds our tactics were limited to working the eastern protected shorelines, and we ended up catching 9 redfish on RipTide Conley grubs rigged weedless on a #4 Daiichi Bleeding Bait Copperhead hooks, and Storm Chug Bugs.
